This wedding was a real treat to be a part of. I was able to work really closely with the brides on how they wanted to balance both of their families religious beliefs, and how that might translate to their future practices as they start a family of their own. In some ways it seemed like a big under-taking, but once Jodie and Sara let me know that Rabbi Jessy and I would split up the ceremony (between Jewish faith and non-Jewish faith components), then it became a fun challenge – and a learning opportunity! The blending of two faiths in such a collaborative and harmonious way is a fantastic metaphor for marriage itself, and they did a fantastic job. Mazel tov!
